Man tries electrocution on wife
Sun Media - A 60-year-old man is accused of attempting to electrocute his wife in their Oshawa home.

The woman claims that while taking a shower Sunday morning, she received several electrical shocks when adjusting the taps, according to Durham Regional Police. When she called her husband, an electrician, he allegedly told her it was a build up of static electricity.

The woman said she discovered a section of drywall missing and electrical wires attached to the plumbing in the bathroom on Monday around 11 a.m. When the female confronted her husband, she was physically assaulted and choked almost to unconsciousness, police allege.

When the suspect left the house, the female contacted police.

Claringinton cops saw the suspect driving a red Grand Am heading east in the area of Hwy. 2 and Regional Road 57 and= activated their lights and sirens.. The driver refused to pull over and a chase - reaching speeds in excess of 170 km/h - ensued.

The suspect was spotted driving in Port Hope a short while later where cops arrested without himfurther incident.

The suspect has been charged with mischief endangering life, aggravated assault, assault causing bodily harm and fail to stop for police.
